You're probably reading this because you're the one in four, or maybe you haven't been diagnosed but are struggling somewhat, or maybe you're just being nosey, and that's OK. I've created this safe space to allow you to feel normal, to recognise that we are all imperfect and that our imperfections are indeed our beauty.
Since the age of 12 I have been diagnosed with depression, generalised anxiety disorder and OCD. It hasn't disappeared, and it never will. But in the past 8 years I have learned that this is my life, I can be in control of it and I can use my illnesses to inspire others. I'm no psychologist, nor am I a journalist or counsellor; however I've got a hell of a lot of experience of being yet another 'depressed misfit' in this crazy place we call our world.
In this blog I will be discussing self-talk, body image, being a misfit, comparing ourselves, dealing with guilt, general mental health stuff, and most importantly how to make this world our happy place. I want people to be able to open up this site and realise that they are not alone, and that negative feelings are just as normal as positive feelings.
Whatever stage you're at in life, please just take a moment to thank yourself for being here, alive, breathing and surviving.
Thank you for taking a few minutes out of your day to read this, I hope together we can end the stigma and most importantly: talk.
Have the best day, A x
